Update 23.12.2013:
Even though Switzerland is such a small and diverse country, E-Sports events are surprisingly plentiful. Hardly a week goes by without a LAN party or some kind of E-Sports tournament. Yet, despite there being numerous organizations and committed individuals, Switzerland lacks a veritable national competition. With the Swiss E-Sports Masters this is ought to change.
A legitimate Swiss national championship for E-Sports - that is our goal. Not a single solitary offline tournament, or a simple series of online cups. We aim for a season packed with offline tournaments, concluding in an offline championship final to crown the official Swiss E-Sports champions. But instead of hosting seperate dedicated Masters events, which would be direct competition to the existing Swiss E-Sports events, we rather make them a part of it! With the Swiss E-Sports Masters we attempt to have the existing Swiss LAN parties join their forces, for the greater good!
Throughout the season, players can attend partnered LAN parties, compete in their tournaments, and gain points for the E-Sports Masters ranking. The players and teams claiming the top of the ranking at the end of the regular season, advance to the Swiss E-Sports Masters Grand Finals! Battling not only for the glorious title of the Swiss national champion, but also a respectable cashprize-pool.
We we do this, we want to make sure to do it right: the best possible way. That is why, we have put aside our initial, overly ambitious goal to start the Swiss E-Sports Masters in January 2014. We have rescheduled the start of the first Swiss E-Sports Masters to Summer/Fall 2014 - to make it right! Stay tuned!
